Parc de la Ciutadella

One of the bigger parks in Barcelona is the Parc de la Ciutadella which is located in the old town (Borne) between the Arc de Triomf and the city beach Barceloneta. This really big area invites for a nice walk and in summer many citizens are enjoying a picnic in the shade of its palm trees.

An impressive fountain with stairs (Font de la Cascada) to each side decorates the northern corner of the park. At the opposite side you will find the Zoo of Barcelona.

There is a small pond with paddleboats you can rent – if you really like that. Also the Parlament de Catalunya is located at the side of the park. That is where the catalan politics are made. It is open for visitation every 1st friday of a month.

Attention:

the park is full of pickpockets.
