The best known market in the City of Barcelona is ‘La Boqueria’. Its original name is Mercat de Sant Josep and it is located just aside of La Rambla. You can find a large variety of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. Prices are not too bad, so it is always worth a stroll. Especially in the back part you can eat good and cheap at snack bars.
Being a touristic attraction La Boqueria usually is packed. If you are really into buying food you should go in the early morning.
