Park Güell
Park Güell has been built by Antoni Gaudi by order of Eusebi Güell between 1900 and 1914. The park was planned to be much bigger and supposed to be a settlement with many mansions, of which only 3 have been finished due to financial problems. Park Güell counts in as one of the most important attractions of Barcelona and can be entered free of charge.
The park’s architecture is famous due to Gaudi’s way of building ecologically with organic structures and the typical patterns from which you can recognize his handwriting. The core of the park – a square – ‘La Plaça’ offers a variety of possibilites to sit down and impresses with its fine work made of uncountable mosaic tiles.
